This process includes the protocols (standards), algorithms and strategies to securely and consistently prevent or delay unauthorized access to sensitive information and enable the verifiability of every component in a communication.
CPT213: Organization and Design of programming languages is a 3 credit unit course for students studying towards acquiring a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and other related disciplines. In this course we introduce the major principles and concepts underlying all programming languages without concentrating on one particular programming language. Specific languages are used as examples and illustrations. It is not necessary for the reader to be familiar with all these languages, or even any of them to understand the concept being illustrated. At most the reader is required to be experienced in only one programming language and to have some general knowledge of data structures, algorithms and computational processes.

CPT 221 Object Oriented Programming II is a 3- credit unit course for students studying towards acquiring a Bachelor of Science in any field and particularly, Information Technology. The course is divided into 4 modules and 20 study units. It will first introduce the fundamental of java programming language, which include language general syntax, variables and datatypes, strings and reserved words. Next, is classes, interface, enumeration and objects. This include constructor as a special method, overload and override a method and control access to members. Thereafter, java operators and control statements are discussed. The operators include arithmetic, relational and logical; while both decision and looping statements or constructs would be discussed as well. Finally, the students would be introduced to some java exceptional handling such as java throwable’s inheritance hierarchy, catch exception with try/catch/finally blocks, using throws and throw keyword.

CSS311: Cybercrimes and Countermeasures is a 3 credit unit course for students studying towards acquiring a Bachelor of Technology in Cyber Security Science and other related disciplines. The course is divided into 4 modules and 15 study units. The course started with the introduction of software engineering issues and associated terms to software engineering. The course then proceeds and deals with the processes that have to be followed in order to develop robust software. The course went further to deal with the concepts of system engineering and engineering processes that are important to the development of software. Other modules of the course discussed software requirements, requirements engineering process and system design; that is the strategic design to follow to have sophisticated software. The course concluded by examining software verification, validation, testing, debugging and decommissioning. These are the final processes to execute to ensure error-free and standard software.
CPT 318 Human Computer Interaction is a core course; 2- credit unit course for students studying towards acquiring a Bachelor of Science in any field. The course is divided into 5 modules and 11 study units. It will first introduce the Foundation of Human Computer Interaction. Next, Human Centered Development and Evaluation are treated in detail. Thereafter, the Principles of Good Design and Gui Toolkits are discussed. This is followed by an extensive discussion of the Introduction of Usability Testing. Finally, the student is introduced to the Software Engineering Issues.

CPT316 – System Analysis and Design is a three [3] credit unit course of twelve units. It deals with analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of computer-based information systems. The earlier courses in this programme would have made you familiar with basic computer hardware and software concepts as well as with some of the programming languages. The programming experience acquired is complemented in this course with systems experience. This would enable you to cope with the number of components in a systems development approach and enmesh you correctly to result in a successful project. The three modules in this course is a run through of the basic stages of a system devt life cycle (SDLC), the stakeholders in system development and the role of each stakeholder. The aim of this course is to equip you with the basic skills of studying and understanding a system as well as lay the foundation of the basic knowledge and tools you need to become a proficient system analyst. By the end of the course, you should be able to confidently study, analyse and design a workable system.
